Morzine TownMorzine is a picturesque old-style Savoyard town which is centrally located in the massive Portes-du-Soleil ski area, reputed to be the largest linked ski area in the world. The town centre remains largely unspoilt and has retained its character, charm and strong French flavour. There are activities for the non-skiers, such as ice skating, indoor swimming pools, and two cinemas. There is a plethora of restaurants ranging from the regional specialities to Pizza and Seafood. My personal favourite is L'Etale t +33 (0) 450 79 09 29 There is a good amount of bars with Après-ski being encouraged in most. Clientele is varied from mainly French in the Irish Coffee bar, the Dutch tend to use the Crepuscule Indian bar whilst the British seem to gravitate to the Buddha bar and then on to the Cavern (run by the fun loving Russell). However one bar not too miss is Bar Robinson, here they serve the truly scrumptious Muzig, which all I can say is, that it's a good job the place shuts at 7pm because too many of these and one will NOT be skiing the next day due to an enormous hangover. The Dixie Bar next door to Bar Robinson, has Sky and plays most football games. All bars have to close at 2 AM after which if, you can still stand, check out one of the two nightclubs, but remember, the slopes re-open at 9.00 AM !!!
